Costa Rica is bordered by the Central American republics of Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the South. The Pacific Ocean surrounds the country below and the Carribean Ocean to the north of the country.

High tourist season is usually from December until April. Rainy season is from May until November. However, Costa Rica's tropical weather year round allow for noticeable tourism throughout the year.

The economy is stable and depends on agriculture, tourism, technology and fruit, coffee and vegetable exports. Presently, the colon (national currency) is at 455 to one U.S. dollar.

Two airports serve the Republic of Costa Rica, one in Alajuela, just outside San Jose, and the other in Guanacaste, to the north of the country. All major international airlines service SJO, the San Jose airport.
